Terms of Service

1. The Service

Ease Lease is a rental-record tool for small-scale property management. It is not a property-management service for larger portfolios, a tenant portal, or professional tax, legal, or accounting advice.

• The Hard Cap: We strictly limit usage to a maximum of 5 units per user.
• Start-Clean Workflow: The guided setup is intended to begin with your current month. You may add prior rental history manually when needed.
• Not Professional Advice: We provide a ledger tool, not tax, legal, or financial advice. You are responsible for the accuracy of your records and tax filings.

2. Accounts & Security

• Access: You must use Google OAuth to access your account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account.
• Accuracy: You agree to provide accurate information regarding your properties and transactions.

3. Subscription & Payments

• Merchant of Record: Lemon Squeezy is the Merchant of Record for paid subscriptions. By subscribing, you also agree to Lemon Squeezy's applicable terms.
• Plans:
  • Starter (C$0): Limited to 1 active unit.
  • Pro (C$7.99/month or C$69/year): Up to 5 active units, receipt attachments, and accountant exports.
• Currency, renewal, and taxes: All displayed subscription prices are in CAD. Pro subscriptions renew automatically for the selected monthly or annual billing period unless you cancel. Lemon Squeezy calculates and collects any applicable taxes at checkout.
• Cancellation and downgrade: You can cancel Pro from Settings. You retain Pro access until the end of the current paid period; then your account returns to Starter limits, including the 1-active-unit limit. Archive extra units before the downgrade takes effect if needed.
• Refund requests: Email billing@easelease.app with the checkout email and order reference. We review requests under applicable consumer protections and Lemon Squeezy processing requirements.

4. Data Ownership & Content

• Your Data: You retain full ownership of all property, unit, and tenant data you enter.
• Tenant PII: You represent that you have the right to store your tenants' contact information for the purpose of managing your rental business.
• Prohibited Content: You may not use the service for any illegal purposes or to store fraudulent financial data.

5. Limitation of Liability

• "As-Is" Basis: Ease Lease is provided "as-is" without any warranties.
• Financial Risk: We are not liable for any financial losses, tax penalties, or legal disputes arising from your use of the app or reliance on its reporting features.

6. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate the 5-unit hard cap or engage in fraudulent activity. The service may change or end; where practical, we will provide notice and an opportunity to export account data before an orderly service closure.

7. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms to reflect changes in our service. We will notify you of significant changes via the email associated with your Google account.
